In 2020, we introduced handy ‘Focus on’ filters that help you narrow down your car searches: ‘Highest win chance’, and ‘Immediately available’. You’re probably already using them to track down auctions you have a high chance of winning and cars that can be delivered to your lot quickly.

Now, with the addition of the ‘Only at OPENLANE’ and ‘Best description’ filters, you have even more ways to save time with targeted searching.

✔ Only at OPENLANE

When you select ‘Only at OPENLANE’, every vehicle in the search results is exclusively available at OPENLANE. This means they’re not listed for sale anywhere else, so there’s no risk you’ll bid on a car only to find out it was already sold on another website. Instead, you bid with confidence, knowing with absolute certainty that the car you’re interested in is still available.


✔ Best description

Not all car descriptions are equal. To make your decision easier, we’ve developed parameters for assessing the accuracy of vehicle descriptions. The vehicles that show in a ‘Best description’ search are those that have scored the highest marks in the test. This eliminates unnecessary stress and lets you bid with a high degree of certainty.

‘Focus on’ options help you narrow down your search based on what’s important to you.

Care about more than one thing? You can also mix and match your ‘Focus on’ searches. Maybe you want to search for cars that have reliable descriptions and are only available at OPENLANE—simply check both boxes. You can also create your ideal combination filter by adding in one or both of the original ‘Focus on’ options detailed below.


✔ Highest win chance

Bidding on a car takes time and effort. That’s why it can be frustrating if your offer ends up being rejected by the seller for a reason you hadn’t anticipated. Bidding on a ‘Highest win chance’ car greatly reduces this risk. Provided you place a bid that’s close to the seller’s requested sale price, you have an extremely high chance of successfully acquiring vehicles classified as ‘Highest win chance’.


✔ Immediately available

It’s a fast-paced world and you don’t have time to waste. When you’re in a hurry, the ‘Immediately available’ filter narrows down your search to cars that are already on the OPENLANE lot, or will be when the auction ends. As soon as the car is paid for, it will be transported directly to you.

With ‘Focus on’ filters, you decide for yourself how you prefer to search, and tailor your searches to show exactly what you want to see. If you’d rather cast a wider net by not filtering your search, you can check the tags on any listing in the search results to see which ‘Focus on’ features a vehicle has.
