7 January 2022 - OPENLANE, the online car auction company is looking ahead in the new year and preparing to expand its leading market position in continental Europe even further in 2022. Exciting changes are afoot, with two business lines from OPENLANE Europe set to deliver more convenient solutions than ever before.
“In 2022, we will continue to develop across Europe our first business line, which offers full transactional open auction solutions for lease and rental companies, fleet owners and dealers under the OPENLANE brand. Next to that, we will set up a renewed Dealer2Dealer approach in continental Europe”, CEO Johan Meyssen explains. This business line aims at delivering top-quality, customer-focused solutions for dealers, with open and closed auctions under the GWListe brand in Germany, and across Europe under the OPENLANE brand.
To support these growth plans, our valued OPENLANE Europe team has undergone some changes. As of January 2022, some familiar faces are taking on new positions and challenges.
Lars Agten, actual Country Manager at OPENLANE Belgium, has been appointed as Operations Director for OPENLANE Europe. Lars will take over from Pieter Behets to oversee our offices in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France and Belgium and will take on the responsibility of managing our major European accounts. In addition, Lars will be leading our logistics department.
Gino Vleminckx, actual Chief Commercial Officer at OPENLANE Europe, will lead the team running our brand-new OPENLANE incubator. Gino and his team will be developing new products and business lines for OPENLANE, and he will oversee the ‘go-to-market’ process.
Pieter Behets, actual Chief Business Development Officer at OPENLANE Europe, will take on the role of overseeing OPENLANE Belgium temporarily, replacing Lars. Pieter will work together with Gino and his team to develop new products and bring them to the market.
